SEC to review complaints of missing voters

HYDERABAD : Four regional conferences are proposed to be held by the State Election Commission from May 31 to examine complaints of additions and deletions, besides alleged irregularities, in the electoral rolls for the ensuing Panchayat Raj elections.

They will be held at Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Hyderabad and Tirupati, which would be attended, by the Collectors, Superintendents of Police, Chief Executive Officers of Zilla Parishads and District Panchayat officers. State Election Commissioner A. V. S. Reddy would chair the conference. The first meeting is scheduled at Visakhapatnam on May 31 followed by Vijayawada (June 1), Hyderabad (June 3) and last one at Tirupati (June 5).Sources in the SEC said the Commissioner had referred all complaints received to the respective district Collectors.
