NEW DELHI: Sankalp Modwal maintained his all-win sequence in the Delhi State Open international rating chess championship by overcoming Jitendra Choudhary in the seventh round at the Bapu Samaj Sewa Kendra here. Modwal, with seven points, is half a point ahead of Harish Sharma who defeated former champion Chanderpal. The results (seventh round): Jitendra Choudhary (5.5) lost to Sankalp Modwal (7); Chanderpal (5) lost to Harish Sharma (6.5); V.S. Negi (6) bt D.S. Negi (5); Updesh Sharma (5) drew with Sandeep Chitkara (5.5); Ashok Alexander (5) drew with Avinash Sethi (5.5); Karun Duggal (4.5) lost to Manoj Sharma (5.5); Keshav Sharma (5.5) bt Pradeep Solanki (4.5); Raj Kumar (4.5) lost to Saket Kumar (5.5); Prince Bajaj (4.5) lost to Gagan Chitkara (5.5); Sanjay Chhabra (4.5) lost to A.K. Kalshyan (5.5); M. Bhushan (4.5) lost to Sandeep Singh (5.5).
