Lalu's relatives detained

PATNA:
Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's elder brother, Gulab Yadav, and father-in-law, Shiv Prasad Chaudhary, were taken into custody on Wednesday for allegedly trying to rig the panchayat elections in Salarkala in Gopalganj district, Bihar. They were released later.
Gulab Yadav's wife is in the fray for a place in the panchayat samiti and Mr. Chaudhary's daughter-in-law for the mukhiya's post.
Union Rural Development Minister Raghuvansh Prasad Singh's brother, Ravinder Singh, was also held for "disturbing the polling process" in Mahnar in Vaishali district. He is in the race for the mukhiya's post.
