CHENNAI: Conditions are favourable for the onset of southwest monsoon over Kerala during next two to three days. Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala, at many places over Lakshadweep, Rayalaseema and coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.

They were markedly below normal at a few places over Rayalaseema, at one or two places rest over north interior Karnataka, Telangana, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably below normal at one or two places in interior Tamil Nadu, rest Telangana, below normal over rest interior Tamil Nadu, rest coastal Andhra Pradesh, appreciably above normal over rest coastal Karnataka, south coastal Tamil Nadu above normal over coastal Karnataka and were generally normal over rest of the region.

Forecast (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over Andhra Pradesh, coastal and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and north interior Karnataka.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
