NEW DELHI: Now that the Congress and its allies observed the second anniversary of the United Progressive Alliance Government with `report cards' on the achievements of various ministries, the Bharatiya Janata Party plans to release its assessment of the UPA's two years of `non-performance.' At the national executive committee meeting here on May 29 and 30, the BJP will release the document it has prepared on the negative points scored by the UPA, party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said on Thursday. Political and economic resolutions would also be released. Besides, the party could decide to release a statement or resolution on issues related to agriculture. The BJP alleges that suicide by farmers has increased under the UPA regime.
"Promises not kept"
The BJP's main charge against the Congress is that it has failed to keep the promises made in its manifesto to the aam aadmi (common man) and that it has not implemented the Common Minimum Programme adopted by the UPA, its allies and supporting parties. The BJP could also introspect why it fared poorly in the recent Assembly elections. Meetings of conveners of party cells will be held on May 27 and of organising State general secretaries and zonal organising secretaries on May 28. The State presidents and prabharis in-charge of political affairs of the States will meet on May 31.
