VIJAYAWADA: A multi-storeyed complex will be constructed in the heart of the city to house offices of several departments of the State Government. The complex will be of great use to people, who are now spending time and money to visit the offices located in different parts of the city. The proposed complex enables the departments to save money, which is otherwise spent on monthly rents for their office accommodations. The Krishna district administration has planned to construct a multi-storeyed building in the heart of the city, which will house the offices of over 30 departments. District rural development agency, district water management authority, commercial taxes, agriculture and excise departments are now running their offices in rented accommodations. These departments will be shifted to the new complex that is to be constructed on a piece of land belonging to roads and buildings department near the R&B guesthouse on Mahatma Gandhi Road. Cost of the construction will be borne by the departments concerned and the works will be executed by the district administration.
