13 children roller-skate for a cause

The group covered the distance between Kolhapur and Belgaum on roller skates



AIDS AWARENESS: Children on their adventure trip from Kolhapur to Belgaum.

Belgaum: A group of 13 children from Belgaum covered a distance of 110 km from Kolhapur in Maharashtra to Belgaum on roller skates recently.

It was not only to gratify the group's adventure spirits but also for a social cause: to create awareness about the dreaded disease HIV and AIDS.

Rohan Kokakane, Aniket Chindak, both aged five; Gururaj Killekar, Ishwari Kadilkar, both six; Aditya Nadagouda, Shreya Humbarwadi, both eight; Chaitanya Maralihalli, aged 10; Omkar Nilajkar, Nikhil Chindak, both aged 11; Nikita Chougule, aged 12, Gayatri Gurav, Pratik Patil and Ashish Bhandari, all three aged 13; of the Belgaum Roller Skating Academy participated in a daring adventure trip.

The trip was conducted by Rotary Club of Belgaum, S.K. Roller Skating Academy, Kolhapur (Maharashtra), and Unique Group, Belgaum.

TV actor Sagar Talshikar and Assistant Regional Transport Officer of Kohlapur Pradeepsinha Desai flagged off the rally at Kolhapur on May 16.

All through the route of the rally, people greeted the young skaters.

Felicitations

The Rotary Clubs of Kolhapur, Nipani, Sankeshwar, Achanak Tarun Mangal, Sankeshwar, and Basaveshwar Cooperative Bank, Hattarki, felicitated the skaters.

The Rotary Club of Belgaum accorded them a warm reception and felicitated the team on its arrival at the Rani Channamma Circle in Belgaum city.

Suhas Karekar, international skater, and Suryakant Hindalgekar, skating coach, accompanied the team of children.
