CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has set in over south Kerala and some parts of Tamil Nadu conditions are favourable for further advancement into remaining parts of Kerala and southern parts of Karnataka during next two days.

On Thursday, the maximum temperature rose appreciably at one or two places over north Tamil Nadu, rose at one or two places over south interior Karnataka, rest north Tamil Nadu, fell appreciably at one or two places over south Tamil Nadu, north coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Kerala, fell at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, rest Kerala and changed little elsewhere over the region.

Forecast (valid until Sunday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over Kerala and Lakshadweep, at many places over coastal and south interior Karnataka and at a few places over Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
