Kakinada: The functioning of the District Cooperative Central Bank, including all its branches in the district, remained paralysed on Friday following the employees going on one-day strike in support of their demands. State Cooperative Bank Employees' Federation and Joint Forum of All India Bank Employees Associations gave the strike call.
Demands
The employees are demanding among other things revision of wages, resuming of fresh appointments, compassionate appointments, creation of promotion avenues to all cadres, and formulation of comprehensive service rules. Employees of all the banks in the city led by K. Adinarayanamurthy, secretary of Kakinada Bank Employees Coordination Committee, S. V. S. S. Raju, president of District Cooperative Central Bank Employees Federation, and T. S. Anjaneyulu, secretary, have staged a protest demonstration in front of the District Cooperative Central Bank at Nagamalli Thota Junction, seeking immediate settlement of the employees demands.
