HYDERABAD: Saturday, in the picturesque environs of Shilparamam here, will see the first of a 12-city series musical concerts titled `Idea presents Jalsa' - an Idea Cellular and Indian Music Academy presentation, being kick-started. Conceptualised to serve as a platform to help artistes showcase their talent in Indian music, the programmes have among others Pandit Jasraj, Pt. Shivkumar, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia and Ustad Zakir Hussain joining hands in support. They will see upcoming artistes sharing space on the dais with legendary figures in music to enthral audiences. Also, the GSM (global standards for mobile communication) service provider launched Idea-Madhur, an innovative music category giving musical propositions to customers. Indian music content will thus be available for over 7.5 million Idea customers in the form of ringtones, dial tones and background music. Durga Jasraj, IMA spokesperson, said the initiative hoped to create a new generation of Indian Music Listeners.
