Condition of J&K IGP `stable'

Official admitted to city hospital

HYDERABAD:
The Care Hospital on Friday described the condition of Jammu and Kashmir Inspector General of Police K. Rajendra as stable. The IGP who was injured in a terrorist attack in Srinagar was flown in a special Air Force plane to the city on Thursday and admitted to Care Hospital. Mr. Rajendra hails from Nizamabad.
The hospital chairman, B.Somaraju said the wound on the thigh was being attended to.
"There is an injury of artery, vein and bone apart from blood loss. We are monitoring against the risks of infection since it is a major injury," he said.
The IGP's wife and father are at the hospital and security has been stepped up at the hospital floor where he is admitted.
