SHIMOGA: The Janata Dal (Secular) has nominated B. Yesudas as its candidate for the coming election to the Legislative Council from the South West Registered Graduates' Constituency. Talking to newspersons here on Saturday, Mr. Yesudas said that he had tried for a ticket from the Congress and had even registered nearly 18,000 voters for this election. But he was denied the ticket by that party in the last minute without assigning any reason for it. This forced him to seek the candidature of the Janata Dal (Secular), he said. He said he was confident of winning the election. He said that apart from the government employees, teachers would also support him.
