Not absconding, says former Minister
Srinagar:
Former Jammu and Kashmir Minister Ghulam Ahmad Mir, named by a TV channel as being allegedly involved in the sex racket that has rocked the State, on Saturday said he was not absconding.
In a statement issued here, Mr. Mir said, "It is shocking that the media is alleging that I have left the State and am absconding." Mr. Mir said he had not moved out of the Kashmir Valley for the past fortnight. "The tirade seems to be a well thought plan of my political adversaries aimed at maligning me on one hand and trying to influence the mind of the court by circulating these fabricated stories," he said.
