This Day That Age
Prime Minister Nehru indicated on May 28 that there would be no "ornate memorial" to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. It was now felt that no memorial should be put up except for what was already there with some minor alterations. That would be in the fitness of things. "We feel it should be as simple as possible.''
