A TRADITIONAL BEGINNING: Union Minister of State for Mines and Geology T. Subbarami Reddy inaugurating the gober gas plant distribution programme in Dharmasthala on Sunday.
DHARMASTHALA: Union Minister of State for Mines and Geology T. Subbarami Reddy said on Sunday that non-conventional energy sources were the best sources of energy for future and they should be popularised with renewed planning and management. He was speaking after inaugurating the gober gas plant distribution programme under the aegis of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Rural Development Project (SKDRDP) here.
Potential
Mr. Reddy said non-conventional energy sources had a direct and indirect employment potential which could be harnessed for the micro-level development. Lauding the work of self-employment and rural development taken up by SKDRDP, Mr. Reddy said employment generation, stability of society, and welfare of all were the hallmarks of the Dharmasthala institution. The Dharmasthala model of rural development and self-employment was being emulated in Uttar Pradesh by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. He would ask the Tirupati Tirumala Devasthanams (TTD) authorities to study the Dharmasthala temple management and mass feeding programmes some of which could be adopted by the TTD, Mr. Reddy, who is the chairman of the trust of the TTD, said.
Incentive
Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala D. Veerendra Heggade said that the Government should encourage users of non-conventional energy sources. One of the incentives to them should be speedy clearance of the subsidy component for the use of non-conventional energy sources, he added. Mr. Reddy honoured Dr. Heggade with a shawl.
