CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda announced on Sunday that an Industrial Model Township (IMT) would be developed in the `Metal City' of Jagadhari on 700 acres of land which would also incorporate food processing units on 70 acres. Addressing a public meeting at Jagadhari, Mr. Hooda said that the IMT would provide employment opportunities to the youth and give impetus to rapid industrial development in the region. The meeting was organised by the local MLA, Subhash Chaudhary, and presided over by the Union Minister of State for Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation, Selja. Mr. Hooda also announced that the Civil Hospital of Jagadhari would be upgraded from 30 to 60 beds. He also assured to set up a Primary Health Centre at village Bambhaul. Also, a Government College would be started at Yamunanagar for which the site would be decided later on and a bridge would be constructed on Chetan Nalah. He also assured that the various problems facing the metal industries and the plywood units would be solved. And the case of huge arrears of sugarcane growers lying pending with the Saraswati Sugar Mills, Yamunanagar, would also be given due consideration. He reiterated that his regime was committed to balanced development throughout the State without any discrimination of caste, creed, community and region. He asserted that he gave equal importance to all districts of the State in respect of providing improved development infrastructure. He added that his Government had earmarked Rs. 929 crores for constructing, repairing and building of roads, bridges and buildings in the State for the year 2006-07. Efforts were on to impart quality and job oriented education to the youth. Sustained efforts were being made to provide adequate power supply and potable drinking water.
