ISLAMABAD: A senior Minister in the Pakistan Government says the former Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, was in the know about the 1999 Kargil operation and raised questions about his patriotism for ``hurling allegations'' through the Indian media. Muhammed Ali Durrani, Minister for Information and Broadcasting, took the issue with Mr. Sharif for his statements in an interview with PTI that he learnt about what was happening in Kargil only after the then Indian Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, called him about it. ``Nawaz Sharif was aware of the scenario but now his allegations are reflection of his petty personal motives. He is trying to falsify truth by using the Indian media. It is unfortunate that a former premier of Pakistan is strengthening Indian interests,'' he said. He said the ``distortion of the truth'' by Nawaz Sharif was an invitation to India to interfere in the internal affairs of Pakistan.
