Sundaram Infotech to hire 500 professionals

CHENNAI: Sundaram Infotech Solutions (SIS), the IT services arm of Sundaram Finance Ltd, will hire over 500 professionals in the next 12 months, thus tripling its headcount in Chennai. The company, which has recently implemented a couple of large value offshore IT solution deals in the U.K. and Sri Lanka, has announced aggressive overseas expansion plans. In a release, Srinivas Acharya, Deputy Managing Director, Sundaram Finance, said SIS would target markets in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the UAE, as well as the U.S., in addition to expanding its presence in the U.K. and Sri Lanka. SIS plans to double its infrastructure in Chennai to over one lakh sq. ft. this year.
