CHANDIGARH: Rajya Sabha member and Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) Secretary-General Ajay Singh Chautala on Monday asked Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda to "come clean on the various scandalous deals amounting to thousands of crores of rupees that the Haryana Government is entering into''. In a press release here, Mr. Chautala alleged that in the recent past the Haryana Government had "gone on a spree of entering into agreements that give benefit to the tune of thousands of crores to individuals and private companies at the cost of the State exchequer''. He charged that the State Government had handed over 1,700 acres of land acquired by HSIDC for developing a Special Economic Zone at Garhi Harsaru to Reliance Industries for "a pittance" and demanded a thorough probe into the "deal". He also sought an explanation from the Government over the "deal to purchase power, which was yet to be generated, at a very high price from a company that is owned by a Congress Member of the Parliament''. Terming it a "blatant act of looting of the State by a deal that commits Haryana for a long term'', he urged Mr. Hooda to make a statement on these issues.
