Bt.cotton price fixed at Rs. 650 per 450-gm pack

HYDERABAD: The retail sale price of Bt. cotton has been finally fixed at Rs. 650-750 per pack of 450 gram.

The Government announced this here on Monday, specifying the range of the price payable by farmers. Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Agriculture Commissioner Poonam Malakondaiah repeatedly asked district Collectors at a videoconference here on Monday to take immediate legal action against any seed company demanding additional amount.

Ms. Poonam said Bt.cotton is grown in 17 districts in the State. She said the seed suppliers had agreed to implement the G.O.
