Youth killed in road accident

TAMBARAM: A 24-year-old youth was killed on the spot when the motorcycle, on which he was travelling, was hit by a government bus on the Grand Southern Trunk Road at Irumbuliyur.

Police identified the victim as S. Anandan of Ponneri in Tiruvallur district.

Anandan was travelling with a friend, Suresh, on the Chennai bypass towards Tambaram. Near the intersection of the GST Road and the bypass, a State Express Transport Corporation bus on its way to Koyambedu from Tiruchi hit the motorcycle. Anandan sustained head injuries and died on the spot, while Suresh is undergoing treatment at the Government General Hospital in Chennai.
