Power shutdown

CHENNAI: Power supply will be suspended on Mangesh Street, Rameswaram Road, Duraisamy Road, Mambalam High Road, Griffith Road and North Usman Road on Wednesday from

9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Medical camp

The Hindu Mission Hospital conducted a medical camp on Sunday morning at Old Perungalathur. About 200 patients were treated for various ailments and 30 referred for surgery.

Cycle rallies

The North Chennai Congress District Committee passed several resolutions at the meeting of the office -bearers held recently. Cycle rallies have been planned to explain the achievements of the UPA Government on June 4 at R.K. Nagar, June 11 at Perambur, June 18 at Royapuram, June 25 at Poonga Nagar, July 2 at Harbour and July 9 at Thiruvottriyur. A public meeting by the State and Central Ministers has been planned to commemorate Kamarajar's birthday on July 15. The birthday of Rajiv Gandhi that falls on August 19 and G.K. Moopanar on August 20 will be commemorated by holding the North Chennai district conference.

Dental check up

The Baskar Dental Foundation in T. Nagar conducted a dental check up for the trainees of the Seva Samajam Teachers Training Institute, Adyar, on Tuesday. The trainees were also educated on the prevention of common dental disease.

Aviation courses

The Flytech Aviation Academy will be offering several courses that train students for employment in the aviation industry. The Commercial/Private Pilot License, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering courses require students to have completed Plus-Two with Physics and Maths. The latter two courses require a score above 50 per cent in Physics, Chemistry and Maths. Those who have passed Plus-Two in any stream are eligible for Cabin Service Training. Retired government officials association

Efforts are being made to form a branch of the Retired Government Officials Association at K.K. Nagar shortly. Retired officials of both state and central governments residing in K.K. Nagar, Ashok Nagar, West Mambalam, T. Nagar, Kodambakkam and Saidapet who are interested in joining the association may contact V.R. Chandra Mohan at 24740248, S. Rajamanickam at 24899074 or S. Naadhabrahmam celebration

Naadhabrahmam will be celebrating its fourth anniversary at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mylapore, on Sunday at 6 p.m. It's anniversary issue will be released by P. Obul Reddy, industrialist. R. Krishnamoorthy, member, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission, will release the compact disc.
