Students of Aruna Design College showcase their work
|
BANGALORE:
When the students of Aruna Design College graduated recently, they let the world know that they are serious about their chosen field.
How? They held a fashion show. They did not hire models and designers. They showcased their own products. The students themselves walked down the ramp wearing their own creations.
Interestingly, there was this touch of Indian-ness to the clothes designed by the students. A couple of new-look gagrah-cholis and full-arm shirts that the girls wore and walked the ramp were attractive. A few boys too tried to attract the attention of the audience by getting on the ramp with their self-designed clothes. As many as 36 students graduated at the event. They were presented with certificates.
Noor Ali Basha, a student, walked away with the best student of the year award while Sokha Mercy bagged the most creative student award. The graduation day had Mayor Mumtaz Begum as the chief guest while the chairman of the Industrial Relations committee of Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industries Ramanath was the other guest.
