Rangasamy calls on Lt. Governor

Pondicherry: Chief Minister N. Rangasamy called on Lt Governor M.M. Lakhera at Raj Nivas on Tuesday.

Rangasamy later told The Hindu that he had presented the list of subjects (portfolios) allocated to his five ministerial colleagues in the six-member cabinet, which includes the Chief Minister.

The government orders carrying the details of the portfolios for each of the six incumbents of the cabinet were being finalised and would be available late in the night or on Wednesday, an official source said.

Mr Lakhera will leave for Andaman and Nicobar islands on Wednesday as he is holding additional charge of post of Administrator of that Union Territory.

The five Ministers who are colleagues of Mr Rangasamy in the Congress government here are: V. Vaithilingam, E. Valsaraj, M.O.H.F. Shah Jahan, Malladi Krishna Rao and P.Angalane who were sworn in on Monday marking expansion of the ministry. Mr Rangasamy had taken charge on May 18.
