Coimbatore: Favourite Southern Railway (Chennai) drubbed South Eastern Central Railway (Bilaspur) 64-44 to lift the CRI Pumps Silver Trophy, specially imported from Germany, in the fifth All India basketball tournament for women at the Sri Venkatakrishnan indoor stadium courts here on Tuesday. The Bilaspur women maintained a close distance till the halfway mark but lost ground in the last two quarters. Earlier, Central Railway (Mumbai) played to a plan to oust Western Railway (Mumbai) 65-41 for the third spot. The final showdown for both men and women was shifted to the indoor courts at Perianaickenpalayam, on the outskirts of the city, at the last hour due to a heavy downpour. The change in venue caught the spectators unawares and robbed them of a great contest. In the men's section, Vijaya Bank (Bangalore) got the better of ICF (Chennai) 63-58 to finish for the third place. The results: Men: Third place: Vijaya Bank (Bangalore) 63 (Roshan 21, Austin 12) bt ICF (Chennai) 58 (Sikander Oli Raja 19, Balaji 13). League: IOB (Chennai) 66 (Mihir Pandey 18, Chandrasekaran 12) bt Vijaya Bank 36. Women: final: Southern Railway (Chennai) 64 bt South Eastern Central Railway (Bilaspur) 44. Third place: Central Railway (Mumbai) 65 (Indu S 22, Ambiliy P.K. 10, Giji John 10) bt Western Railway (Mumbai) 41 (Menaka Antony 12). Sports Reporter
