HYDERABAD: Former India cricketers led by Mohd. Azharuddin will join hands with film stars to raise funds for the needy sportspersons by playing an exhibition match at the IGMC Stadium in Vijayawada on June 11, according to M.S. Raj Thakur, chairman of the Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh. Test discards L. Balaji, Hemang Badani and stumper M.S.K Prasad among others have confirmed their participation.
MCH's tournaments
Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad will organise football and hockey invitation tournaments, to mark the 200th-year celebrations of Secunderabad from June 5 to 8, according to S.R.Prem Raj, director of sports, MCH.
Six teams in each discipline will battle it out for honours.
Former India captain Victor Amalraj and Hyderabad Hockey Association secretary G. Satyanarayana will be the tournament directors for football and hockey respectively.
Hockey will be held at Begumpet Police Stadium and football at the Trimulgherry Village grounds.
Meanwhile, MCH's age-group swimming tournament will be held on June 5 at the Secunderabad pool.

Match drawn
Bharat Dynamics Ltd. and Abbas Union played a goalless draw in the A Division Rahim league football championship at the Railway grounds here on Tuesday.
Swathi moves up
Swathi defeated Anusha 21-18, 21-19 in a girls' league match of the V. Hanumanth Rao tennikoit tournament here.
