`DIC(K) efforts fruitless'

KOZHIKODE: DIC Left Forum State general convener U.T. Rajan has alleged that efforts by the Democratic Indira Congress(Karunakaran) (DIC-K) leadership to dissuade its members from continuing in the alliance with the Left Democratic Front (LDF) will not be effective.

In a statement here on Tuesday, Mr. Rajan said a majority of the members of the party were for continuing the alliance with the LDF.

Since the party members had forged an alliance with the LDF during the 2005 local bodies elections and had been elected on that ticket, they will be treated as members of the LDF under the Kerala Local Self-Government Institutions (Anti-Defection Bill), he added.
