Award for Royapettah Government Hospital superintendent

Government Royapettah Hospital Superintendent R. Thirunarayanan, has a trophy that he proudly displays in his office. The long-serving Superintendent, due to retire, has been recognised for excellence in medicine and administration by the Indian Study Circle.

He was recently conferred the Rashtriya Rattan Award and gold medal at a function in Delhi. The Union Minister of State for Planning M.V. Rajasekharan handed over the memento and certificate to Dr. Thirunarayanan at the function in which former Tamil Nadu Governor Bhishma Narain Singh was also present.
