Crash course

CHENNAI: TATA-Loyola Outreach Department conducted a summer crash course for 203 school children and 21 women of Kovalam from 18th May to 28th May. The valedictory was held on 28th May at 4 p.m. The camp aimed at empowering students in mathematics, spoken English, grammar, painting, drawing, art and craft. Fr. Albert Muthumalai of Loyola College was the chief guest.

MBA Open House

Career plan is organising an MBA Open House for final year students pursuing different courses. The interactive session will feature discussions on test (CAT/ XAT/ TANCET) patterns and useful lessons. Cancer detection camp

Global Cancer Concern India (GCCI) is conducting a cancer detection camp at Lifeline Multi Speciality Hospital, Perungudi on Wednesday at 10 a.m. to mark `No tobacco day'. A hundred persons would be screened free of cost. Members of two old age homes will also be examined.

Free yoga classes

B.D. S. results on website

Results of the I&II B.D.S (Non-semester), I, II, III, B.P.T., I & II M.P.T examinations conducted by the M.G.R. Educational & Research Institute, Deemed University held in April 2006 will be available on its website (www.drmgrdu.ac.in) from June 1, 2006.

Hacked to death

A 38-year-old man was hacked to death by an armed gang at Kamakoti Nagar, Pallikaranai, on Tuesday. Police identified the victim as Shankar, an auto driver. He is reported to have involved in some crime cases in the city and also served jail sentences before shifting to Pallikaranai.

Cash burgled

Over Rs. one lakh cash was burgled from a TASMAC liquor shop in Neelankarai on Monday night. Police said staff in the store had locked the store on Monday night and when they opened it on Tuesday, they found cash burgled.
