Staff Correspondent
MANGALORE: Xavier Alphonse, a member of the University Grants Commission, has expressed concern over television programmes increasingly depicting violence. Such programmes would have a negative impact on children, he said while delivering a lecture on "Developing human resource for enhancing competencies to neutralise individual and collective violence," at the College for Leadership and Human Resource Development here recently.
Impression
He noted that violence left an ever-lasting impression on children and could numb their reception of sufferings of other people. This could be detrimental to society in the long run, he added. He said violence on TV often left children disturbed.
