Rally against tobacco products

The Indian Dental Associaton will hold a rally demanding a ban on tobacco products, to mark World No Tobacco Day on Wednesday. The rally will be flagged off from Bowring Hospital, near Shivajinagar at 9.30 a.m. and will move to the Queen's statue in Cubbon Park. At the Queen's statue, an exhibition showcasing the ill-effects of tobacco use will be held. A poster competition will also be held at the same venue.

The fourth edition of the Zak Garmentech South will be organised at the Palace Grounds, Bangalore, from June 1 to June 4. As many as 60 companies will display the new machinery in the garment industry. Madhu Kapoor, managing director, ALT Training College Foundation Limited, said here on Tuesday

Inaugurated

Actor Bharati Vishnuvardhan recently inaugurated the Jayanagar branch of Pill and Powder and released the latest issue of the newsletter "News & Views". Pill and Powder is a retail chain of pharmacies.

It has 12 branches in Bangalore, according to a press release.
