BANGALORE: Members of Youth for Equality said that they would continue their agitation peacefully till a consensus was reached on the issue of reservation. Despite a Supreme Court warning to withdraw the anti-reservation strike, information technology professionals and junior doctors in Karnataka stuck to their stand of continuing the agitation against the Union Government's decision to provide 27 per cent reservation to OBCs in higher educational institutions. "We have the highest regard for the Supreme Court. However, we will continue our agitation peacefully. We will hold more rallies, discussions and other peaceful means of showing our resentment to the Government's decision," Kumar Gaurav, a member of the forum, said. Junior doctors and medicos of different colleges including the Bangalore Medical College were holding meetings to decide on the issue. "We are holding a general body meeting on Wednesday. We will decide out next course of action then," said Mohan Chandra, an undergraduate student of Bangalore Medical College. Representatives of junior doctors associations in various cities in the State said the decision to withdraw the agitation would depend on the stand taken by protesters at All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi. Meanwhile, medical college students attended classes wearing black badges. They continued their protests such as relay hunger strike, staging street plays and candlelight protests. More than 300 students of M.S. Ramaiah Medical College and M.S. Ramaiah Institute of Dental Sciences took out a rally protesting against reservation. The students took out a rally from M.S. Ramaiah Medical College to Mekhri circle.
