DUBAI: The United States forces in Iraq appear to be losing some of their key allies, with Italy deciding to pull out its remaining 2,600 troops by the end of the year. Other countries also appear to be scaling down their contributions in Iraq. Out of a commitment of 3,200, South Korea will withdraw 1,000 soldiers from northern Iraq by the year-end. The pullout process will begin next week. In Denmark, Parliament has approved a plan to scale down its contingent to 80 troops out of the 530 personnel. With 900 troops in central Iraq, Poland is debating whether to keep its forces beyond 2006.
