NELLORE: Seventeen-year-old B. V. Sesha Pavan Srinadh of Kavali town will not forget in his lifetime the year 2006, and in particular the month of May, as he scored an academic hat-trick by securing the best ranks in three toughest successive admission tests for engineering courses Eamcet, AIEEE and IIT. Srinadh, who has secured second rank in Eamcet and all-India third rank in AIEEE, has now secured all-India fifth rank in IIT. The soft-spoken boy of Narayana Junior College, Nellore, attributed his success on Wednesday to four key factors: systematic preparation, regular practice, support from family members, particularly mother Venkata Lakshmi, and his college. Talking to The Hindu over phone, Srinadh said that he was now happy as he could finally fulfil his father's dream of he studying in IIT.
Secret of success
When asked about the secret of his success, he replied, "One must set a goal in what to pursue in education. Then comes proper preparation. This approach can make the learning process simple." Moreover, hard work does not mean burning the midnight oil. It is the quality of effort blended with intense concentration that can make all the difference, he said. According to Srinadh, grip over Telugu Akademi textbooks is a must for cracking the Eamcet. In the case of AIEEE, preparation in CBSE books is mandatory. "Many students tend to ignore CBSE text books. They are very helpful in securing the best ranks in examinations like AIEEE, IIT and BITSAT." "The young boy lost his father in 2002 when he was studying in ninth class," Venkata Lakshmi said. The proud mother said that Srinadh wanted to become a scientist in his chosen field Electronics and Communications. Prior to that, he would obtain a PhD, which was his father's wish, she added.
