HYDERABAD: A music-cum-dance recital to bring out the beauty and divinity of `Nama Sankeertana' will be presented under the aegis of Sri Sandeepani Gurukula Seva Trust here on June 13. A unique concept to explain the evolution of `Nama', Vedas and `Nada' out of Pranava Mantra -- `Aum' - and to artistically depict `Nadopasana' and `Nama Sankeertana' (chanting of Lord's name) as two divine music-based paths to realise God will comprise the programme, says Latha, a chartered accountant and one of the trustees. The trust, a branch of Sri Muralidhara Swamigal Mission, Chennai, works under the guidance of Sri Muralidhara Swamiji to propagate the power of `Nama Sankeertana' to realise salvation and promote Veda recitation, the very basis of Hindu way of life.
Three-hour ballet
As many as 23 artistes - seven musicians, 11 dancers and the rest on orchestra - will be part of the three-hour ballet. The unique aspect of the programme will be dances performed to `Marathi Abhangs' (poet saints) known only for their Bhajan compositions and other compositions of saints who demonstrated to the world a simple way to experience divine bliss through `Nama Sankeertana', she says. The programme will be staged at Ravindra Bharathi on June 13 from 6 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
