NSG chief

NEW DELHI: Jyoti K. Dutt, Special Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), is tipped to take over as the Director-General of the elite National Security Guards (NSG), sources said here. Mr. Dutt, a 1971 batch IPS officer of West Bengal cadre, has had a long stint with the country's premier investigating agency in various capacities. Mr. Dutt has already been empanelled as the Director-General of Police.

The post of NSG chief has been lying vacant for the past few months after A. K. Mitra was shifted to head the Border Security Force (BSF).
