Elected fellow of Russian academy

BANGALORE: Bangalore's scientists and academicians are frequently in the news and often for all the right reasons.

Goverdhan Mehta, CSIR Bhatnagar Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science and Chairman, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), has been elected Fellow of the Russian Academy of Sciences for his research in chemical sciences.

The Russian academy is more than 200 years old.

Prof. Mehta is a former director of the IISc. and president of the Indian National Science Academy.

He is currently president of the Paris-based International Council for Science.
