CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Kerala, coastal and south interior Karnataka.Rainfall occurred at most places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka, at many places over south interior Karnataka and at a few places over north interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh and dry weather prevailed over Telangana.

Forecast (valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and coastal Karnataka, at many places over interior Karnataka.

Isolated rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andhra Pradesh.

Heavy rainfall warning: Scattered heavy to isolated very heavy rain is likely to occur over Kerala, Lakshadweep and Coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours. Isolated heavy rain is also likely to occur over Interior Karnataka during the same period.

Outlook for subsequent two days: No significant change.
