Madikeri: International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will open a centre here on College Road to spread the message of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Vedic literature, zonal secretary of ISKCON Shankhadhari Das said on Thursday. Addressing presspersons here, he said the centre would have Lord Jagannath as the presiding deity along with Baladev and Devi Subhadra. The centre would start functioning in September. Sudhir Chaitanya Das, regional director, congregational preaching services, Karnataka, said the new centre would be named as "Sri Jagannath Mandir". ISKCON representatives Krishna Bhat and Shivarama were present.
