Urges Manmohan to convene meeting of Chief Ministers to discuss terrorism

GANDHINAGAR: The Gujarat Government has announced a reward of Rs. 10 lakh to the Nagpur police and other security staff who repelled a terrorist attack on the RSS headquarters there on Thursday morning.

Announcing this, Chief Minister Narendra Modi expressed serious concern over the increasing terrorist attacks in different parts of the country and urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to convene a meeting of Chief Ministers to discuss strategy to tackle terrorism.

Describing the attack on the RSS headquarters as a "serious blow on the nationalist organisations in the country," Mr. Modi blamed the abolition of the Prevention of Terrorist Act for encouraging terrorism and urged the Prime Minister to give immediate approval to the Gujarat Prevention of Organised Crime Act, which could be applied as a substitute for POTA.
