KOCHI: Her sensational triumph in the recent Philippines Open has lifted Saina Nehwal 33 rungs in the latest women's world badminton rankings. The 16-year-old Hyderabad star is ranked No. 53 in the new list released on Thursday. She was 86th last week. Trupti Murgunde (88) and National champion Aparna Popat (89) are the other Indians in the women's top 100. Meanwhile, the country's top male player, Chetan Anand, has climbed four steps and is now 20th. National champion Anup Sridhar (58) and Arvind Bhat (61) are the other Indians in the men's first 100.
