Anti-dumping duty on Chinese silk fabrics
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
The Finance Ministry has issued notifications imposing provisional anti-dumping duties on silk fabrics of various specifications and of Chinese origin following a recommendation made by the Designated Authority.
The Designated Authority had found that silk fabrics (of weight 20 to 100 grams per metre) originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China had been exported to India below their normal value, causing material injury to the domestic industry.
The government has, meanwhile, extended the anti-dumping duty on zinc oxide originating in or exported from China till April 8, 2007.
