Bangalore: Sify Limited, Internet and enterprise services company, has announced online examinations for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS), which conducts recruitment tests for banks, other financial institutions and public sector undertakings. Sify's online examination engine, iTest, will facilitate Scale I and II promotion examinations for 867 officers of Indian Overseas Bank through IBPS. The examination will be conducted simultaneously from 123 Sify iWays in 47 cities. V.K. Chilana, professor, IBPS, said: "Conducting online examinations has helped the IBPS reduce turnaround time while opening an additional mode of delivery. With the introduction of the service, requirements of organisations are met. It enables faster and instant evaluation compared with the manual mode. More such online testing services are in the pipeline." Dipan Bhattacharyya, Senior Vice-President, Enterprise Solutions, Sify Ltd., said the introduction of online examinations provided value to clients in terms of speed, accuracy and reliability. "Technological expertise has made the online examination process simple for candidates and companies using the service," he added. Companies increasingly prefer online examinations for recruitment in view of the lower cost. Sify's clientele for online examinations include the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and BPO (business process outsourcing) units.
