TIRUMALA: The TTD board of trustees which met here on Thursday resolved to construct a Divya Kshetram of Lord Venkateswara in two acres of land available at the existing Sri Ganapati temple in the posh Jubilee Hills locality, at Hyderabad. Briefing mediapersons on the deliberations of the board of trustees which met here on Thursday, TTD Chairman T.Subbirami Reddy said that the temple along with a massive Kalyana Mandapam and a library shall be constructed along with Maha Ganapati temple. Construction of similar Divya Kshetrams at Chennai and Bangalore is also under the finalisation stage.
Financial aid
In yet another revolutionary decision, the board also has resolved to provide financial aid of Rs.2000 per month to over 100 temples identified in each district of the State to carry out the daily dhoopa, deepa and naivedhyam. The amount also includes the salary of the priest.
Developmental activities
The board also resolved to provide house plots to TTD employees at the 182 acres of land identified near Renigunta about 12 kilometres from Tirupathi and 27 acres of land belonging to Sri Hathi Ramji Mutt apart from providing house flats at the seven acres of land available near Vinayaka Nagar, Tirupathi. Later, Mr. Reddy, who dwelt at length regarding the various developmental activities undertaken by the present board of trustees during its scheduled two years tenure which shall get completed by June 8, said that he was immensely pleased at the way the board reacted in identifying the problems of the common pilgrims and initiating steps in solving them.
Developmental activities
He cited instances like air-conditioning of the second Vaikuntam queue complex, taking up the long pending work of construction of the Rs.100 crores Kumaradhara and Pasupudhara drinking water project at Tirumala, performance of Kalyanotsavams of Lord at all important towns in the state on Sravana Pournami day, equipping other temples in the fold of the TTD with required jewels for the deities, providing of free milk to the infants and aged visiting Tirumala, setting up of Vedic University at Tirumala and the Rs.12-crore Balaji tele-serial among other activities.
