63,000 get aid under pension scheme

ADILABAD: The Adilabad District Rural Development Agency-Indira Kranti Patham (DRDA-IKP) has reimbursed Rs. 1.2 crores to banks towards the interest differential on the loans provided to women's self-help groups.

In all, 9,300 groups, consisting of 1.4 lakh members, benefited, according to DRDA-IKP Project Director G. Gopi. He told the governing body at a meeting here that the organisation spent Rs. 7.6 crores towards providing pension under the National Old-Age Pension scheme during the last year. Over 63,000 old persons benefited from the scheme, he said.
