BJP condemns attack on RSS headquarters

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Prakash Javadekar has condemned the attempt by terrorists to attack the RSS headquarters in Nagpur and dubbed it as an act of cowardice.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, he described it as an attempt to attack the nerve centre of Indian patriotism.

He lauded the Maharashtra police for foiling the bid. On the resolution passed by the party's national executive in support of Telangana State, he said the party's campaign against the betrayal of the people's trust by the Congress and TRS would be launched on Friday at a rally in Mahabubnagar.

Asked why BJP was not furnishing its views to the UPA subcommittee headed by Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, he quipped, "What is its authority?" He wanted Mr. Mukherjee first seek a letter from Sonia Gandhi.

Security beefed up

Meanwhile, security has been stepped up at the RSS office here at Barkatpura following the attempt by terrorists to attack the RSS headquarters at Nagpur.
