Tips to ease woes of schoolchildren
Special Correspondent
KOCHI:
The Ernakulam District Private Bus Operators' Association has come out with a few suggestions to make this school year a "peaceful and problem-free" one in the district.
Association president K.A. Makkarkunj and general secretary M.B. Sathyan said that sometimes several buses stopped at one stop at the same time. In such cases, children should not crowd into just one bus alone; they should split into groups and each group should get into one bus each.
In order to avoid schoolchildren-bus crew confrontations, parent-teacher associations of each school should hold meetings of parents, teachers, bus operators and representatives of bus crew unions. Such meetings and consultations would help forestall student-crew row, which is quite frequent now.
In case of complaints against a particular bus or bus crew member, the association should be informed (Ph: 2333332) so that the issue could be resolved at once.
