Canara Bank amalgamates three RRBs in U.P.

BANGALORE: Three Uttar Pradesh-based regional rural banks (RRBs) sponsored by Canara Bank have been amalgamated into one bank under the name Shreyas Gramin Bank as per a government notification, a Canara Bank statement said here. The amalgamated three RRBs are Aligarh Gramin Bank, Etah Gramin Bank and Jamuna Gramin Bank. The Union Government will hold 50 per cent shares in the Shreyas Gramin Bank, while Canara Bank and the U.P. Government will hold 35 per cent and 15 per cent stake respectively.
