PONDICHERRY: The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will finalise their partners for the upcoming civic polls in the next two days, said A. Anbalagan, legislature leader of the party in Pondicherry. Mr Anbalagan said that the committee formed to oversee the polls will look into this and also decide whether the Puducherry Munnetra Congress (PMC) will be part of this alliance according to its participation in this meeting. Mr. Anbalagan said if the AIADMK candidates are elected in the polls, they would look after the civic requirements of the people living in areas under their jurisdiction. He criticised the Congress government for its failure to allot wards for the backward classes in Pondy, which he feels was necessary . Mr. Anbalagan said that AIADMK should be recognised as the main opposition in the Assembly . He said that it would invite criticisms if the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam was given the opposition status as DMK was extending unconditional support to the Congress, which had formed a minority government. He hoped that a fair and fair decision would be taken in this regard.
