DINDIGUL: Eight persons were arrested in connection with murder of two notorious criminals here on Friday. (Manigandan alias Karadi Mani (29), a notorious criminal and history-sheeter, and his accomplice Bagath Singh (30) were murdered by an unidentified gang in broad daylight behind the Collector's camp office in Dindigul on Tuesday). The arrested were A. Dharmaraj, (29) of Palamarathupatti, district secretary of PMK party workers wing, Androose, (23) of Ponnagaram, Kannan, (29) of Kakkan Nagar, Pandi (28), Murugan, (28), Sudhakar, (25), Anand Kumar (22), and Jayaba all belonged to Dindigul town. The arrested were produced before the Judicial Magistarte Court-II. Talking to media persons, DIG (Dindigul Range) G.K. Vanniab Perumal said prior enmity was the main reason for the murder. Stern action would be taken against criminals. Special teams have been formed to monitor movement of rowdies and persons engaged in `kattapanchayat.' Three special squads had been formed to nab the gang.
